18 years
Today I turn 18.
Of all things, I'm actually reminded of this day two years ago, finally 16 years old, and how excited I was to sign up to Up Bank. Two years on, still a proud #Upsider...
Taking a step back, it's been a considerable few years of new frontiers — learning to drive at 16, licence at 17, and now voting at 18 (and maybe the odd trip to the pub?)
Today I'm reflecting on the conversations, challenges, leaps of faith and serendipity that have been incredibly inspiring and formative for me in my journey and early career, as well as acknowledging the privileges and opportunities I've had along the way.
When I was younger, the "age card" by default would be a differentiator in a cold email/DM, pitching a story or coffee request. That changes from today — becoming a much smaller fish in a much bigger pond — which I'm ready and excited to jump into.
So back to today...what did I do this morning? Signed up for more software of course 😁 This time, pearler. A great investment platform I'm stoked to try (thanks Jed for the rec).
Ps. If you've been a part of my journey, in any way, I am so grateful.
